We welcome you to our family-run castle estate and vineyard. For 125 years and in fifth-generation, we unite our established traditions with our knowledge from the study of viniculture in Geisenheim. Furthermore, we set great value upon the quality of our wines and for satisfied guests of our estate in Wachenheim in Rhine-Hessia. Acquired in the year 1889 by Constance’s Great-great-grandfather, our castle estate was originally built in the 14th century. The castle as well as the historical park and the farm buildings are all located on an area of about 2.3 hectare and they are all listed under monumental protection. Through careful maintenance and preservation, many areas of the estate are still available for a broad range of events.
Our vineyard of about 20 hectare is run by our family with active support of a small team. We use fitted technology during the cultivation to protect and preserve the soil as well as the surrounding flora and fauna as effectively as possible. At harvest time, the vines are carefully selected and hand-picked to achieve the high quality of our wines.
Since 350 AD, Viniculture is a well-established tradition in Wachenheim in Zellertal. During the cultivation on six different locations, our vines benefit from the mild, local climate while they gain their distinctive, mineral character by growing on weathered limestone soil. Our wines then develop their crisp and aromatic flavor in our castle’s cellar through reductive winemaking.
